M8053.5 Japanese Order of the Rising Sun, 8th Class

M8053.5 Japanese Order of the Rising Sun, 8th Class

This is the lowest grade of the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun. It is a WWII example.

The design has polished silver paulonia leaves with flowers above. It is suspended from a white silk ribbon with red edge stripes. The reverse is plain except for Japanese characters. The reverse has the original hook and eye for mounting.

The medal shows some light soil and age to the ribbon. The silver is somewhat tarnished.

This was part of a large grouping of IJN items I obtained from a picker about 2 years ago.
