MK27A Visor Cap Device for Japanese Navy Petty Officer

MK27A Visor Cap Device for Japanese Navy Petty Officer

This is the device worn on the Imperial Japanese Navy Petty Officer’s Visor cap after 1942.

This insignia consists of a fouled anchor surrounded by a wreath with a 5 petal cherry blossom at the top. These metal parts are gold painted zinc except for the cherry blossom which is painted silver. The metal parts are attached to a padded cloth shaped sort of like a fat inverted heart. The front is navy blue wool and the back is black cotton twill.

Paint is about 40% overall. I see no mothing or significant wear.
