G5011.5 First Pattern Red Cross Overseas Cap Eagle

This rare eagle was worn on the side of the fist pattern of the WWII German Red Cross overseas cap. It is machine woven and consists of a dark gray vertical oval with¬†the first pattern Red Cross eagle¬†which has the red cross below the black eagle. The second pattern has the cross on the eagle’s chest and is on a white vertical oval.

This example has been cut down to just the design and sewn on a cap. It also some wear to the design, mostly to the red cross.
