U06102-3 WWII U.S. Army Mess Kit Eating Utensils
I have several sets in stock similar to the set shown. These are sets of WWII era mess kit silverware, in excellent condition.
The fork and spoon are made of stamped stainless steel. The fork and spoon will be marker marked in most cases. Both the fork and the spoon are "U.S." marked in front of the tear drop shaped cutout in the handle used to dunk messware in boiling water to sterilize them.
The knife has a cast aluminum handle and a stainless steel blade and will exhibit little to no sharpening. Normally one side the handle will be marked "U.S." and the side will be marked with the maker's mark and date.
These pieces were purchased through the years at any one of several local flea markets in the St. Louis metropolitan area, antique shops, estate sales or veteran sources.
