U06102-3 WWII U.S. Army Mess Kit Eating Utensils
This is a new mint set of WWII era mess kit silverware.
The fork and spoon are made of stamped stainless steel. The fork is marked "Wallco Stainless". The spoon is marked Silco Stainless and the company logo. Both the fork and the spoon are "U.S." marked in front of the tear drop shaped cutout in the handle used to dunk messware in boiling water to sterilize them.
The knife has a cast aluminum handle and a stainless steel blade that appears to have no sharpening. On one side the handle is marked "U.S." and on the other "L.F.&C. / 1945". "L.F.&C." stands for Landers, Frary & Clark.
These pieces were purchased at several local flea markets in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
