U08093D3 Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal

U08093D3 Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal

Basically this is awarded for attending a minimum percentage of scheduled drills within a certain period.  It was established in 1939 as the “Fleet Marine Corps Reserve” medal.

This is the second variety of this medal worded "Marine Corps Reserve" on the front. It has a later ball hinge and a crimped brooch marked with a diamond shaped trademark and "GI". It looks to be a 1970's or 80's strike.

The medal is in mint condition.

This is part of a dealer's stock I purchased. He tinkered with militaria sales in the 1990's.
