U4213D7 Airborne Medic's Bag

U4213D7 Airborne Medic's Bag

This specialized item was first issued in 1944 to airborne medical personnel.

This example is dated 1948, but I have another in my collection that is dated 1944, and it is IDENTICAL in every way.

The bag is made of olive green canvas and woven webbing. Hardware is black painted steel. The pack consists of 3 pouches that fold inwards and a flap with a friction buckle that folds down to cover them. All 3 pouches are about 10" high. The 2 outer pouches are 3" deep and 5" wide. The middle pouch is actually 2 in 1. The front pouch is 7 1/2" wide, 9" high and 3" deep. The rear pouch is 9 1/2" wide, 10" high and 2 1/2" deep. These dimensions are approximate. Each of the 3 inner pouches closes with a friction buckle.

It is stamped below the flap: "74-P-284 / Pouch, Medical, Parachutist / J.Q.M.D.1948".
