U779 Third Logistical Command

U779 Third Logistical Command

Logistical commands were formed after WWII in response to the changing requirements of the nuclear battlefield.  As I understand it, their mission was to provide all of the support needed to keep combat units fighting.

The second log cmd was formed in Alaska. Its patch shows 3 arrows pointed in every direction, which is where the unit was ready to provide support.

This patch is in mint condition. It is an early merrowed edge and is fully embroidered. This probably dates the patch to the 1970's.
